About this calculator

The minimum due keeps your card active, but it is mostly interest. Pay only that and a balance can take many years to clear.

Enter your balance, the card rate and the minimum due percentage. Then compare it with a simple 12-month plan.

How it is calculated

  • Each month: interest = balance × (yearly rate ÷ 12), added to the balance.
  • You pay the minimum due, at least ₹200 or the balance if smaller. Repeat until the balance reaches zero.
  • The 12-month plan is a standard EMI over 12 months at the same rate.

Assumptions. No new purchases, the minimum is a fixed percentage of the balance, and interest is charged monthly. Your card’s own terms will differ.
